BeamBot for Vortex V8

Control
DMX input with straightforward channel mapping for pan/tilt and common programming parameters. The DMX Channels are adjusted by buttons on the control module. Important, set all channels to non dim, channel one can only operate if channel 2 is off and vice versa, channel 3 can only operate if channel 4 is off. Most Console operators program their board so each fixture has up/down/left/right arrows on screen so they can use the mouse to click on and off each channel

Use mode button (figure 1) to select DMX and up/down buttons to select starting address. BeamBot uses 4 channels
Mounting
Multiple rigging options for I Beams, truss, or gridโbuilt to keep the head secure and aligned.
Two Swivel burtons are all you need for a fast rig. The unit is 42 inches long and weighs around 20 pounds. Its Junior receiver is rated at 180 lbs.
Step 1 โ Rig BeamBot to pipe or Ibeam roller units using two swivel burtons or equivalent. For orientation, โlamp left backโ is marked on BeamBot. The control module is on lamp left. (figure 1)
Step 2 โ insert the Vortex 8 lights junior spud into BeamBots Junior receiver, insert cotter pin, tighten receiver locking bolt located at bottom of receiver. Important note, the cotter pin holes and the BeamBot pan tab on receiver should be centered on the light for proper alignment.
Step 3 โ Important, loosen both t handles to unlock yoke so lamp can tilt freely.
Step 4 – Mount the tilt actuator on the top lamp left side of yoke as shown (figure 2/3) Use the 4 bolts and nuts provided, Do not overtighten the bolts to avoid crushing yoke
Step 5
Mount the bottom bracket to the rigging points on the lower lamp left side as shown ad (figure 4/5) using knobs provided.
Step 6
Ensure T handles on light are loose, make sure all cables and other obstructions are clear of lights travel path and pinch points
Step 7
Program your DMX channels, the Beambot Vortex V8 uses 4 DMX Channels Ch. 1 tilt up, Ch. 2 tilt Down, Ch. 3 Pan Right, Ch. 4 Pan Leftโฆ Note- If this pan/tilt channel is wrong then try swapping the pan/tilt cables at the control box as these sometimes get changed by previous user or for different fixtures. Also note The BeamBot for Vortex tilt channels are reversed from other fixtures due to the mounting system.
Power & cabling
120 volt AC 2.5 amps regular North American U-ground cord end. 5-Pin DMX in and out (m/f). Each Version % and higher come with built in USB to power your wireless if required (you supply the Wireless)
Operational range
155 degrees of pan and 120 degrees of tilt you can easily smoothly focus your light in seconds for simple motivated light movement.
